Sodium Hyaluronate HA

Uses:

Sodium Hyaluronate HA (Hyaluronic Acid) is a consistently growing product within Pharmore’s product line up. Used in Dietary Supplements and Cosmetics, Hyaluronic Acid is well known to produce results in its respective applications.

Hyaluronic Acid(HA) has long been known to be a component of the extracellular synovial fluids in humans. It has been found to increase the viscosity of that fluid which acts as a lubricating component for joints in the body.

Along with increasing the viscosity of synovial fluids, hyaluronic acid is also an important component of cartilage. Because of its high viscosity and its ability to help imbibe water, it adds to the resistance to compression of joint cartilage.

Also, hyaluronic acid is a major component of skin, where topical applications have been found to be a factor in tissue repair, especially after exposure to sunburn.

Manufacture:

Pharmore Ingredients is partnered with the preeminent HA manufacturer in China, whose facilities are new and state of the art, including a waste water treatment facility designed to have minimal impact on the environment. The cGMP’s of this factory are second to none and computerized processing results in a consistent product batch after batch. The manufacturer of HA keeps costs competitive by optimizing the process via their continuous improvement program.

Process Flow:

Hyaluronic Acid is derived by the use of microbiological fermentation.

Specific types of bacteria that have hyaluronic acid in the cell structure are isolated.

These select bacteria are grown in a special nutrient broth in a tightly controlled environment.

Under ideal conditions, bacteria double in count every 20 minutes. After several hours of tightly controlled growth, the new growth of bacteria is isolated and the Hyaluronic Acid component is extracted.

The Hyaluronic acid is purified and milled to produce a fine white powder ready for use as a dietary supplement.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What potency do I use when formulating with HA?

  • Potency when formulating can be confusing and really depends on what you want on your label claim. You need to calculate potency based on what you are defining, whether it is Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate or Glucoronic Acid. Pharmore’s specification defines all three of these for you.

2. Which molecular weight range should I purchase?

  • Molecular weight impacts viscosity and typically the lower range of 250-400 kDA is preferred by our customers formulating HA in a beverage. Our customers formulating a tablet prefer the higher range of 1300 - 1700 kDA.
